Real Madrid C.F. Ambassador Opens RMWOF

The highly awaited interactive, digital and immersive exhibition allowing fans and families alike to experience Real Madrid C.F. in first person has now opened its doors following the World Premiere Gala Opening launch event on June 7th. Complete with roaming trick stars, exclusive first access walkthroughs, a VIP grass carpet and one of the club’s legendary ambassadors and former players, Álvaro Arbeloa, the night was nothing short of impressive.

“I think Melbourne is a really special place for Real Madrid,” ambassador Arbeloa proudly spoke at the World Premiere event. “We are really happy to be here and to launch the Real Madrid World of Football Experience.”

One of the most iconic and unique moments of the night saw Arbeloa himself place the clubs newest accolade, their 13th UEFA Champions League trophy, in the exhibition. In an exclusive ceremony, Álvaro Arbeloa gave fans their first intimate look at the trophy. Following Real Madrid C.F.’s 3-1 victory in the 2018 UEFA Champions League Final on the 26th of May, the trophy was urgently flown to Melbourne. Whilst producer, Thea Cochrane, remarked the addition sparked multiple last-minute changes to both the exhibition’s audio visual content and trophy displays, the exhibition wouldn’t be the same without it. It is the first time all 13 championship trophies have been displayed outside Spain.

Located on Melbourne Museum Plaza in a massive 50m x 30m touring pavilion, the journey will only feature in Melbourne for a limited time before taking off on an international tour, visiting 15 cities over the next 5 years. The combination of music, colour, football and fun make the exhibition perfect for young and old, taking visitors through the clubs rich 116 year history. The exhibition gives fans the chance to test their speed and accuracy in the World of Football Skills Arena, as well as fight it out in the Fuzbol Battle Zone on a massive 16 player table.

“It’s so much fun and you always have something to do” one excited fan said as she herself played alongside Arbeloa in the Interactive Come Play! zone. Other supporters immersed themselves in the EA Sports FIFA Arena and the 360o Cinematic Match Day Experience, becoming part of the passion and adrenaline of a Real Madrid C.F. match.

“All our history is here, our legacy, our trophies…It is really nice for the kids and the families,” said Arbeloa as he reflected on the exhibition at the opening event. “You can experience what is Real Madrid and you can feel like you are in Santiago Bernabéu.”
